PRICING OPTIONS

What is your law firm’s standard hourly rate?

There is no fee standardization requirements for attorneys practicing law. Each attorney sets their own rates based on their education, experience, and practice area. Victoria’s base rate is $200/hr for simple legal matters. The rate increases depending on the complexity of the law, number of legal issues, and the need to attend court hearings.

How do I apply for reduced rate services at your law firm?

You will receive a client worksheet and financial screening questionnaire after you schedule your consultation. Fill out the form and return it before your appointment. Victoria will assess your information and compare it to the Federal Poverty Level scale to determine which classification you qualify for and how much to reduce your fee. Fee reductions only apply to Victoria’s hourly rate and document preparation options. You will be responsible for your own court costs or other fees, but you can always apply for a fee waiver with the court.

*A full case assessment needs to be conducted before a final decision is made on the price and legal options available to you based on the client forms and consultation.

What fee options do you offer?

Bitterroot Legal Services offers several different fee options depending on the client’s goals and needs.

1. First, we have the hourly rate option which is best for full legal representation.

2. Next, we offer unbundled services where we limit the scope of the services we offer to a specific task or project and charge based on the reduced hourly rate. Some of these services include reviewing an estate plan (advance directive, power of attorney, or last will and testament), writing a summary judgment memo, or responding to a complaint.

3. Our law firm also offers flat fee (or flat rate) pricing for document preparation. E.g. drafting a person’s last will and testament, writing a parenting plan, or creating a cease-and-desist letter.

4. Finally, there is flat rate pricing available for courtroom preparation. This is best used when you are representing yourself and you need an attorney to help you prepare for a hearing. There are two options: 1) you can book an online only session or 2) book an in-person walkthrough at the courthouse. The in-person preparation tends to be more useful for clients, their children, and any witnesses they may have. This is most commonly used in high stress family law cases like divorce, parenting plan disputes, abuse and neglect cases, or domestic violence order of protection hearings.
